Seven Practical Steps for Journaling While Globetrotting
Capture your global journey through journaling
Moving abroad and enjoying an expatriate life is a journey that ebbs and flows based on your daily life in your new home country. As time goes on, it is essential to capture one’s thoughts and feelings about your international experience.
You could write a book, but that is formal. So why not try a more informal one and even create ways to release your thoughts, feelings, or emotions? Capture your thoughts by journaling.
I moved abroad and continue to stay internationally using my career; thus, I have the nuance of work-life balance. During this international journey, I found journaling to be a helpful tool for releasing the pressure or frustration of life.
It has been a safe place to write out my challenges, doubts, and apprehensions about my location choices, culture shock, and communication frustrations. But most of all, it has been a space for collecting all the ways I have overcome, grown, achieved, and continue to thrive.
So, whether you are a career expat like me or a slow traveler, digital nomad, or entrepreneur, I encourage you to embrace journaling. You can choose a format that suits your personality and needs.
